Metropolitan Museum of Art Adams-Clear 12 oz. Tumbler | Pilgrim Glass

This vintage Adams-Clear tumbler has a clean, straight-sided shape that gives way to a richly molded lower section of fan, plume, and scroll motifs above a ribbed base. The clear glass keeps the overall look simple, while all that detail at the base gives it character.

Why It’s Special

This glass come with some history. It carries the molded MMA mark associated with The Metropolitan Museum of Art and features the discontinued Adams-Clear pattern produced by Pilgrim Glass.

The design is a revival of late-19th-century Adams & Company pressed glass in The Met’s collection, with original examples dating to about 1870–1890. Pilgrim Glass later produced this interpretation for the Museum, bringing a historic American glass pattern back into everyday use.

This tumbler appears to date to the 1970s–1980s, giving you a glass you can actually use along with a small piece of American glassmaking history.

Styling & Use

Use it for iced tea, water, lemonade, sparkling water, or cocktails. It works just as comfortably with vintage china and linen as it does with simple contemporary dinnerware.

Offered individually, it’s a practical replacement for an Adams-Clear collection or an easy way to add one interesting vintage glass to the cabinet without committing to a full set.

Condition

Excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks, or notable scratches were observed. As with vintage molded glass, minor manufacturing characteristics such as small bubbles or slight variations in glass thickness may be present and are not considered damage.
