Vintage Metropolitan Museum of Art Adams-Clear 12 oz. Tumbler | Pilgrim Glass

A classic glass with a collector’s story.

This vintage Adams-Clear tumbler has a clean, straight-sided shape that gives way to a richly molded lower section of fan, plume, and scroll motifs above a ribbed base. 

Why It’s Special

This glass comes with some history. It carries the molded MMA mark associated with The Metropolitan Museum of Art and features the discontinued Adams-Clear pattern produced by Pilgrim Glass.

The design is a revival of late-19th-century Adams & Company pressed glass in The Met’s collection, with original examples dating to about 1870–1890. Pilgrim Glass later produced this interpretation for the Museum, bringing a historic American glass pattern back into everyday use.

This tumbler appears to date to the 1970s–1980s, giving you a glass you can actually use along with a small piece of American glassmaking history.

This single glass is especially useful if you’re replacing a missing Adams-Clear tumbler, but it also works beautifully on its own when you want one distinctive vintage glass in the cabinet.

Styling & Use

Use it for iced tea, water, lemonade, sparkling water, or cocktails. It pairs easily with both vintage and contemporary dinnerware, and the molded detail adds just enough texture to make a simple place setting more interesting.

Condition

Very good vintage condition. The glass is free of chips and cracks. One light surface scratch is present on the upper portion of the glass and is visible on close inspection. There is also one small air bubble within the body of the glass that can be felt slightly from the interior. Neither affects use. This tumbler is priced accordingly to reflect these condition details.
